Hi.
Philippians 4.7 say "and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Peace, in the midst of the chaos of the life. Peace, that inexplicable source of happiness. Peace, that place free of anxiety where we find the freedom we so long for. Why is it so hard to find? And when we do find it, why are we let it go so easily?
I have learned that real and honest peace depends on our trust in God. That means that He is in control of all the details of our lives, even when we do not feel this way. Only when our trust is tied to him we can find our peace. There is nothing accidental about it. Trust is a decision we make. An intentional act.
Yes, trust is the cornerstone for peace. We can relax in confidence while knowing that our creator is taking care of our interest. We can calm down. Reassure us. But when we fall back into the dark and slippery gap of thinking that we are responsible for making things happen in our lives, anxiety and fear take over again. The pressure to do everything for ourselves ends up destroying any pretentious of peace we had built to prevent the world from seeing our true despair.
The book of Ruth in the Old Testament is an extraordinary example of the sovereignty of God in the life of the human being. A young woman sunk in affliction, loneliness and economic problems. Yet she find peace in the midst of her storm. Take ten minutes and read Ruth chapter two and observe how things did not happen by chance.
If you read the rest of the story you will notice that God took care of all the details of Ruth's life and peace and security were restored in her life after a turbulent season.
We also go through turbulent season but we have to remember that the storm will not last forever. Always dawns after a long night. PSalms 30.5 say "for his anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but by comes in the morning."
I find it very pleasant to know that God is as sovereign now as in the time of Ruth. He is in control of every detail of our lives and the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding will prevent our heart and minds from drowning in stress.
Peace is not a distant goal that we want to achieve, but the way through which we reach that goal.(Martin Luther King, Jr.)
Romans 15:13 say " Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you made abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Jonah 2.7 "When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the Lord; and my prayer went up to you, into your holy temple." I hope everyone of us will lift our prayers to God entrusted that in him we will find the help and the peace to live a better life. God bless you and help you and may the peace of God be with each one of you.
Peace, in this world, is a priceless gift. Thank God it is free to all who trust in Jesus. Thanks for reminding me of our perfect peace in Christ.
